The Electrical Alliance is a cooperative effort between skilled craftsmen and electrical contractors to provide quality products and services to customers and to set the standard for efficiency and productivity within the electrical industry. Electrical Alliance contractors deliver a better-trained and better-supervised workforce comprised of electricians who receive intensive classroom and on-the-job training. The benefit for clients is a better quality project, delivered on time and within budget -- every time. How The Electrical Alliance Was StartedIn 1997, over 150 union electrical contractors joined members of Local 26, IBEW to form the Electrical Alliance by adopting a Memorandum of Understanding for Achieving Excellence. In it, both labor and management pledged "their cooperation and support...to promote a healthy and continuing growth of business in the Washington, D.C. area and its outlying areas." The Memorandum outlines numerous commitments to accomplish the Alliance goals. These commitments include:
